Dr Vitor Neves is a UK-trained Specialist Periodontist and Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sheffield, combining advanced clinical expertise with internationally recognised research in periodontal and peri-implant care. Originally trained in Brazil, he completed an MSc and PhD in Regenerative Dentistry at King’s College London, followed by specialist training in Periodontology at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.
Dr Neves has extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of periodontal disease, peri-implantitis and gum recession. He uses modern, minimally invasive techniques to help patients achieve healthy gums, stable dental implants and long-term oral health. His clinical work includes complex regenerative procedures such as bone and soft tissue grafting, mucogingival (gum plastic) surgery, and surgical treatment for advanced gum and implant disease.
He also accepts referrals for specialist periodontal care and works closely with referring dentists to ensure coordinated and seamless patient management. Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Neves leads research focused on periodontal regeneration and the links between oral and systemic health. He has published widely in peer-reviewed journals and secured competitive research funding, ensuring his patient care remains evidence-based, holistic and aligned with the latest scientific advancements.
