Vinod was very professional but at the same time put my son as ease and made him feel very comfortable and safe. We were quite appreciative about the appointment but Vinod put us at ease and was very calm and knowledgeable which has given us the reassurance we needed venturing into the medication route with our son.

The online experience was extremely unhelpful for us. There was no opportunity to set out a safe space and create a social bond before the questions. The doctor conducted a challenging conversation very professionally, but I felt drew conclusions and assumed a logic without spotting opportunities to ask probing questions to develop an accurate representation of issues. The end point was inconclusive and my daughter is largely unwilling to continue engaging in the process, notably the question … if it’s online why do we have to drive to a random room an hour away? The final advice provided ‘to eat 6 times a day’ offered little insight or further help .

Dr Vinod is a gentle and understanding professional who is patient, calm and perceptive, allowing you to feel comfortable expressing yourself during what could be a daunting psychiatric assessment. He is especially good at putting children at ease and explaining things in a language they might understand. He also didn’t make it feel rushed and took time to ensure what needed to be to considered was given adequate time and attention. We appreciated his time and caring approach.

This is the first Psychiatrist session we have spent time with through CAMH's, and Vinod's approach was effective, came across as caring, and had Ella listening and more engaged. It was good to talk about something other than food/meals. I feel more sessions could be beneficial.

Dr Vinod was amazing. He was so kind and understanding to my daughter and made her feel so comfortable that she felt it was easy to talk to him and share how she feels. He explained everything really well and has helped us as a family better understand my daughter's issues and hopefully as a result can support her better.
