Dr Vahe Cooper

Dr Vahe Cooper is a highly skilled Consultant Oral Surgeon and Oral and Maxillofacial Specialist Doctor who provides comprehensive surgical and diagnostic care for conditions affecting the mouth, teeth, and jaws. Recognised for his calm, patient-focused approach, Dr Cooper is particularly dedicated to supporting nervous, phobic, and special care patients. He takes time to ensure that every individual feels fully informed, safe, and comfortable, tailoring treatment plans to each patient's specific needs and preferences.

Clinically, Dr Cooper covers a broad spectrum of oral and maxillofacial surgical care. His areas of expertise include complex extractions of wisdom teeth, retained dental roots, and supernumerary or impacted teeth, as well as coronectomies, apicectomies, bone grafting, and jaw procedures. He routinely diagnoses and manages cysts and benign tumours of the mouth and jaws, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction, bruxism, and facial pain. In addition, Dr Cooper manages a wide array of soft-tissue oral medicine conditions, including mouth ulcers, lichen planus, geographic tongue, stomatitis, and burning mouth syndrome, offering treatments under local anaesthesia, conscious sedation, or general anaesthesia.

Dr Cooper is dual-qualified in both dentistry and medicine. He earned his Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of Birmingham before completing his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at King's College London. He subsequently undertook extensive surgical training specialising in oral surgery and oral medicine. Dr Cooper holds Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (MFDS RCSEd), as well as Postgraduate Certificates in Medical and Healthcare Education and Forensic Medical Science, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Health Leadership. He also serves as an Examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

Alongside his clinical work, Dr Cooper plays a prominent role in postgraduate education and clinical leadership. In his roles as a Dental Core Training Programme Director and Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer, he leads educational initiatives, designs clinical skills courses, and mentors trainees and surgeons across the discipline. His active involvement in medical education ensures that his own clinical practice constantly incorporates current research, innovation, and evidence-based standards.
