I am a psychiatrist with over two decades of NHS and private practice experience, and co-founder of The Holistic Psychiatry Clinic, a UK-wide online practice based at Harley Street, London.
My work centres on three areas where I think good psychiatric care is genuinely hard to find: thorough assessments for adults with depression, anxiety, or suspected ADHD or autism; careful medication reviews for people who want to understand what they are taking and why; and supported deprescribing for those who want to reduce or stop psychiatric medication safely.
My approach is grounded in the conviction that mental health cannot be understood through biology alone. Appointments with me are unhurried – initial consultations are 90 minutes – and I take seriously the full picture of a person's life, not just their symptoms.
I see patients across the UK via secure video consultation, and work closely with my co-founder Dr Rani Bora (FRCPsych).

I remember, I went to the clinic in a state of fractured discombobulation, terrified (because thoughts, at the time, said there was so much mess, here, that, being honest would lead to being taken away, put in some psych ward, and suffering), but willing, partially because I’d reached a place of desperation, and the decision to do something was mine and only mine, also, largely, willing because of trust in a feeling that had emerged, and that was greater (tenfold) than the terror - a feeling that could not explain itself, with logic or language, but that did not have to - one that might be explained (if my explanation is dismissed, for now, I hope it’s returned to, at a time it might make sense) as a glowing knowing, sitting in a, kind of, kindly, matter-of-fact way, in the centre of my chest, that stayed grounded beneath, and while all the noise shifted about, hectically, promising the eventuality of so many different and dreadful (and inaccurate) outcomes. Originally, I’d had another Dr in mind; somewhat last-minute, circumstances shifted drastically, and happenstance had me appearing here. (Well, at the old clinic..) It can be fun to be dramatic, and there’s the artistic (egotistical) urge to over-speak, and explain, and spin language in pretty ways, that stem from truths but quickly become frilly (laced with insecurity - the wanting to justify or write in a way that’s rewarded, or acceptable, so it’s easy to project or perceive it’ll be digestible). It's not necessary here, is it. I see what’s profound, sharp and easy in authenticity. I know this hits the people it nee...

Thank you. I’m glad to hear you felt listened to and supported. That means a lot.
Hes kind caring and good listener, takes his time to listen to us, and explained well,

Thank you for your kind words. I'm glad you felt heard and supported – it's always important to me that our conversations feel clear and respectful.
My son Samuel has had learning disabilities from birth and bi polar disorder since puberty. This was a check up appointment after we have been trying to find out why his cognitive abilities have reduced in recent years . Dr Gogoi has lowered quitiapine. And we agreed to try lowering it again very slightly so that he is not on so many meds .

Thank you for sharing this. It’s been a thoughtful and collaborative process, and I appreciate your openness as we explore ways to support your son with greater clarity and care. I’m hopeful that small, considered changes will make a meaningful difference over time.
I came to Dr Suraj in March after becoming aware of a dependency on medication and I panicked as had no primary care support from my GP.I found him compassionate and calm which is something I really needed and working with him I have found confidence to continue my tapering journey without the fear and knowing that I have the support.i would fully recommend him as he is easy to relate to and has empathy... not easily found in many of his profession today.thank you Dr Suraj.

Thank you for your kind words and trust. I'm so pleased that you've found the confidence and calm to continue your deprescribing journey. It's an honour to guide you as you continue to progress with awareness and strength.
Doctor Gogoi has shown great professionalism, patience, kindness, understanding and empathy towards my son and me. He has shown great knowledge and understanding of our situation and has treated us as individuals and engaged so kindly with my son, who has autism and learning difficulties. He included him in the discussions and has a calm and respectful presence, which helped to keep my son very calm. My son was very happy being around Doctor Gogoi. It is always a delight to have Doctor Gogoi work with us.

Thank you for your thoughtful review. I'm truly glad to hear your son feels calm in my presence. It's a privilege to support you both and to work in a way that respects each person's uniqueness.
Dr. Gogoi is outstanding. He has taken the time to truly understand my daughter who has learning difficulties treating her with empathy, patience, and insight. His holistic approach means he sees the whole person, not just the condition, and he has noticed things that others have missed. We feel incredibly fortunate to have him overseeing her care.

Thank you so much for your kind words. It means a great deal to hear that you’ve felt truly seen and supported in our work together. I deeply value the trust.
Dr Gogoi has a pleasant manner which makes him approachable for both relatives and other professionals. He interacts well, asking relevant questions and listening to what others say. He is respectful to everyone and provides answers to their questions which they are able to understand. He works constructively with others, explaining his approach and considering how the wider environment may impact the mental health and wellbeing of the patient. He is aware that other inventions may be more appropriate in supporting the patient than medication and will advocate these when necessary. Dr Gogoi has made himself available by teams and in person to respond in a timely way to the needs and circumstances of the patient.

Thank you for your kind and detailed feedback. I’m pleased to hear that my approach has felt respectful and collaborative. It’s important to me to work closely with families and professionals, and to consider the whole context of a person’s life when supporting their mental health. I’m glad this has come across in our work together.
Meetings with Dr Gogoi are informative and detailed with thorough consideration given to every aspect of the care an individual is receiving. Medication regimes are considered with detail and information shared about how certain medications can impact well being and mood when used over time and within an aging population. Due diligence is given to medication burdens/regimes with a view to ensure regular review and oversight is had.

Thank you for your thoughtful feedback. I’m glad the detailed approach and ongoing review of medication felt supportive and informative. Medical treatments require evaluation for their long-term impact on health and wellbeing. I am grateful that you understand our dedication to careful supervision.
Very calm and explained his process and system of working very clearly. Always felt comfortable asking questions and was very professional throughout. Everything we discussed was respectful, confidential and I felt we understood each other well. This made me feel confident about discussing private aspects of my physical health and how it relates to my mental health medication. Would recommend to someone else who is finding challenges with managing their medication/medication changes!

Thank you so much for your kind feedback. I'm really pleased to hear that you felt comfortable, heard and respected throughout our work together. It's so important to create a safe space where we can explore not just medication, but the whole picture — including physical health and deeper concerns. I appreciate your recommendation and wish you continued clarity and confidence on your journey.
Dr Gogoi is a highly reliable and patient‑centred clinician, he brings clarity, kindness, and strong diagnostic skill to every consultation. I recommend him without hesitation.
