Mr Stephen Dalgleish appears friendly and professional, providing clear, thorough explanations to patients. He ensures patients feel at ease and well-cared for, demonstrating expertise in hip and partial knee replacements and meniscal repair procedures. Patients praise quick recovery, effective pain reduction, and the life-changing positive impact from their surgery. Key themes highlight his work on knee arthritis and a range of knee replacement surgeries.
Mr Dalgleish was professional, friendly and approachable and made sure I was fully informed of what to expect during and after my treatment, and what I could do to maximise my recovery. He allowed me plenty of time to ask all the questions I wanted to, and I never felt rushed or that he wanted to move me on. He was very patient and ensured I was happy throughout the process and I cannot recommend him highly enough. And of course I am more than happy with my recovery from the surgery and has been much easier and quicker than I expected.
As far as my surgery and anaesthetic I could not fault anything ! Everything was professionally explained and my expectations were met .i was treated with great respect and kindness . However post op … whilst the nursing care I received was very good … i I would have benefitted more from patient centred pain relief requirements .. Rather than staff following a general protocol . I may be in minority re my pain threshold being fairly high … In spite of me telling staff I was not in pain .. I felt huge pressure to take medication when I didn’t require it .. unfortunately it didn’t agree with me and I felt unwell .. So my thoughts are perhaps discuss with patient prior to surgery how they are with pain and their preference … discuss protocol and come to compromise .. along with other methods other than meds … or that could be used in conjunction .
Excellent all round medical professional, responsive to your needs and takes time to explain clearly
I had a very positive experience with Dr Dalgleish. He was professional, attentive, and took the time to listen to my concerns without rushing the appointment. I recently had keyhole surgery under his care, and I felt fully informed and reassured throughout the entire process. Everything was explained clearly, which helped ease any anxiety I had. I felt genuinely cared for and well supported during both the consultation and my procedure. I would definitely recommend him to others.
Having had a partial knee replacement I was amazed at how quickly I was able to recover and how easy and painless the procedure was. I was that impressed that I have scheduled to have my hip replacement done in the near future.
It was my follow up appointment after my partial knee replacement surgery which went well and my consultant and myself were so pleased with the outcome of my procedure. I can’t thank him so much as I’ve been in so much pain over the last two years. I’m now healing nicely.
Explanation of my progress and what i need to keep doing to improve was very good.
My pre-operative appointment was excellent. Stephen was incredibly insightful, taking the time to explain everything clearly and thoroughly, which immediately put me at ease. It was clear that he is highly knowledgeable and experienced, and I had already heard many positive things about him beforehand. On the day of the operation, Stephen remained calm, confident, and professional, reassuring me every step of the way. His expertise was evident throughout the entire process. Following the surgery, my wound healed quickly, and the results have been outstanding. I am extremely pleased with the overall quality of care and the exceptional standard of the surgery.
I experienced total respect from the outset. No judgement of my weight. I have experienced a judgemental attitude to my weight in the past from a consultatnt which was not helpful. As a result of Mr Dalgliesh's understanding I was personally encouraged to lose weight and today I'm 3st lighter today. Everything has been fully explained along the way
Mr Dalgleish was recommended to me by my physiotherapist, who had always found him to be extremely helpful. He has provided me with exemplary care. He listened very intently and sympathetically to all my symptoms, and weighed the problems very thoroughly. It was clear that he wished to give me the best possible care, while at the same time being suitably cautious and circumspect. While it had not been a given that surgery would improve my knee condition, he performed the operation meticulously, and seemed almost as delighted as I am with the great improvement that has resulted.
Stephen is a wonderful surgeon and a genuinely lovely person. He is a leader in the field of knee surgery, and his international training has enabled him to develop skills that go well beyond those of most orthopaedic surgeons.
