Dr Soudeh Chegini is a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with specialist expertise in head and neck cancer surgery, combining advanced clinical practice with academic research and medical technology innovation. Her career spans major NHS teaching hospitals and leading academic institutions, including University College London and the University of Oxford.

She holds a PhD in Biomedical and Medical Engineering from UCL and has developed a distinctive professional profile at the intersection of surgery, research and digital healthcare. As a co-founder of MedicalAR, she is involved in advancing augmented reality applications in healthcare, with an emphasis on improving surgical visualisation, planning and education.

Dr Chegini provides specialist assessment and surgical management of conditions affecting the mouth, jaws, face, salivary glands and head and neck region. Her practice includes the investigation of suspicious oral lesions, head and neck lumps and other abnormalities that may require further assessment to exclude cancer. She performs oral biopsies and surgical excisions to establish diagnoses and treat abnormal tissue, supporting timely investigation and appropriate onward management.

Dr Chegini's work extends beyond conventional surgical practice into the development of technology for cancer diagnosis and surgical care. Her current innovation work includes Blaise, an AI platform designed to analyse nasendoscopy images in real time and support clinicians in detecting signs of head and neck cancer. The project aims to improve diagnostic assessment and support earlier identification of suspicious lesions.
