Dr Shiva Mongolu

Dr Shiva Mongolu is a Consultant in Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism at Hull University Hospitals NHS Trust, with extensive experience in managing complex endocrine conditions. He graduated in medicine from the University of Health Sciences Andhra Pradesh in 2002 and became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians in 2006. He later completed higher specialist training in Diabetes and Endocrinology in the Wessex region, finishing in 2014.

After his specialist training, Dr Mongolu was appointed Locum Consultant Endocrinologist in Southampton before joining Hull University Hospitals in January 2015. His specialist interests include pituitary and adrenal disease, thyroid and parathyroid disorders, polycystic ovary syndrome, gynaecological endocrinology, obesity, and diabetes. He treats a wide range of endocrine conditions, including thyrotoxicosis, hypothyroidism, hyperparathyroidism, adrenal insufficiency, and pituitary disorders.

Dr Mongolu established and chairs the regional adrenal multidisciplinary team and contributes to regional pituitary and thyroid MDTs, supporting complex case management. He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Hull York Medical School and has held senior educational roles, including Training Programme Director for foundation and internal medicine trainees. He also serves as Clinical Governance and Education Lead for his department, reflecting his commitment to high-quality patient care, education, and innovation.
