Róisín O’Bentley is a specialist women’s health physiotherapist and the founder of Thrive, a dedicated women-only pelvic health clinic and sanctuary based in Sharrow Vale, Sheffield. Róisín’s clinical practice is driven by a deeply personal mission to change the conversation around women’s health. Having experienced the frustration, anxiety, and vulnerability of pelvic floor dysfunction first-hand after the birth of her second child, she rejected the common narrative that leaking and pain are "just part of being a woman." After trialling, testing, and refining her own recovery to become entirely leak-free, she established Thrive to give other women the expert, compassionate care they truly deserve.
Clinical Expertise & Approach
Róisín specialises in the assessment and treatment of complex pelvic health and musculoskeletal conditions across all stages of a woman's life. Her clinical expertise centres on supporting women navigating urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, diastasis recti (tummy gap), pregnancy care, postnatal recovery, and pelvic pain, with a particular focus on incontinence (stress and urgency) and menopause physiotherapy.
Believing passionately that the pelvic floor is never an island, Róisín’s practice is grounded in a whole-person assessment model. Rather than treating isolated symptoms, she evaluates how pelvic muscles interact with broader movement patterns, posture, breathing, and lifestyle factors. Her tailored therapy programmes focus on unhurried, evidence-based care, combining advanced clinical assessment, hands-on therapy, and movement and exercise guidance.
Empowering Long-Term Wellbeing
At the heart of Róisín’s practice is a commitment to patient education and collaborative care. She works in close partnership with each woman to restore physical confidence, improve pelvic health, and support a fearless return to daily activities, exercise, and the things they love. In her peaceful Sheffield clinic, Róisín provides a safe, welcoming, and non-judgemental environment where no question is silly and no topic is taboo. Her ultimate goal is to empower women to understand their own bodies, helping them shed the heaviness and live life to the absolute fullest once more.

Roisin is very careful and thoughtful in her approach, and made me feel safe in discussing personal issues. I am delighted with the outcome of working with her.
Roisin could not make you feel more comfortable and relaxed talking about very personal women's issues and destigmatising many of the problems we face. Her knowledge is vast and her manner so personable that I always come away feeling lighter, happier and more in control of my own body.
Highly recommend. Such a special safe space for women to br treated
