Miss Rakhee Nayar is a highly regarded Consultant Plastic Surgeon who specialises in reconstructive plastic surgery and Mohs micrographic surgery. As one of a select few female consultants in the United Kingdom dual-trained in both plastic surgery and Mohs micrographic surgery, she offers a comprehensive and integrated approach to skin cancer management and delicate facial reconstruction. Her clinical practice encompasses a broad spectrum of reconstructive and dermatological surgical procedures. Miss Nayar possesses extensive expertise in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of skin cancers, including basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma, as well as benign skin conditions such as moles, cysts, lipomas, and skin tags. Her dual expertise allows her to perform micrographic removal of skin tumours and undertake immediate, complex reconstruction using advanced surgical techniques such as direct closure, local flaps, and skin grafts.
Miss Nayar graduated with Honours from the University of Liverpool in 2004 with her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree (MBChB). She completed her higher surgical training in Liverpool, Manchester, and Birmingham. Her formal qualifications include Membership and Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Plastic Surgery (MRCS, FRCS Plast), a postgraduate Doctor of Medicine degree (MD) in skin cancer research, and the European Diploma in Hand Surgery. She has also completed dedicated fellowship training in cosmetic surgery and hand surgery. Miss Nayar maintains professional memberships with leading bodies, including the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS) and the British Medical Association (BMA).
Alongside her clinical duties, Miss Nayar plays an active role in medical education, research, and national leadership within her field. She is involved in training future surgeons and has published research widely in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
