Mr Prav Praveen

Mr Prav Praveen is a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial, Head and Neck Surgeon at the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust and an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Birmingham. He is dual-qualified in both medicine and dentistry, and holds fellowships including FRCS, FDSRCS (Eng) and FFDRCSI (Ire), reflecting his extensive specialist training.

His clinical practice focuses on surgical head and neck oncology, reconstructive surgery, microvascular techniques, facial trauma and implants/dentoalveolar surgery. 

He has held a number of senior leadership roles, including Clinical Lead for the Pan-Birmingham Head and Neck Cancer MDT and Board Member of the European Head and Neck Society. He previously served as Clinical Service Lead for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at UHB. He has also been elected to be an OMFS representative on council for British Association of Head and Neck Oncologists.

Mr Praveen is an experienced educator and course director for several international head and neck surgery programmes. He is regularly invited to lecture internationally and has contributed to national and international conferences for over a decade.

He is also an active researcher and has served as Principal Investigator for major UK clinical trials, including the HOPON trial and the SEND trial. His academic work includes numerous peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and award-winning presentations, with contributions spanning oncology, reconstructive surgery, and surgical innovation.
