Professor Dimitris Emmanouil

Professor Dimitris Emmanouil is a specialist in Paediatric Dentistry. Professor Emmanouil completed the Paediatric Dentistry postgraduate program at the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, Medical College of Wisconsin, USA. They also hold a Masters from Marquette University, USA, a PhD from the University of Athens, Greece and a Certificate in Epidemiology from Harvard Medical School. Professor Emmanouil is a past Assistant Professor at the Department of Pediatric Dentistry, University of Athens, Greece and King's College London Dental Institute in the UK. In addition to this, they are a past adjunct Assistant Professor at the Washington State University, School of Pharmacy. Professor Emmanouil has also co-edited the book 'Nitrous Oxide in Paediatric Dentistry'.

Professor Emmanouil is a worldwide authority on nitrous oxide pharmacology due to their extensive research, for which they have won awards from the American Academy of Paediatric Dentistry, International Association of Paediatric Dentistry and American Society of Dental Anesthesiology.

Professor Emmanouil lectures internationally on Nitrous Oxide, Special Care Dentistry and Behavior modification. They have lectured annually at Harvard Continuing Education courses in the USA. Professor Emmanouil is a past president of the IADH, the International Association of Dentistry for Disability and Oral Health, as well as ADSE- American Dental Society of Europe, the oldest Dental Society in Europe. They are also the National Director of Special Smiles- Special Olympics, Greece.
