Dr Piero Zollet

Following my trabeculectomy I have had numerous follow up appointments with Dr Zollet. He has been so kind and given me confidence as I navigate this period. He has answered my questions with patience (regardless of how daft they were) and helped me to understand what I can and can't do in order to heal. On this visit, following all checks, he has told me I can more or less go back to normal (though no swimming!) I have another appointment in 4 weeks to check that everything is still ok.

I recently visited the University of Wales hospital, eye clinic in Cardiff, for my routine appointment following cataract surgery. The doctor had to carry out some tests to check my eyes. He communicated the results of each test in a very clear and precise manner. I understood what was going on and I was reassured about the outcome. Excellent communicator and good attention to detail.

Dr Zollett has a very calm and patient manner, he took the time to ask me if I had any questions at the start of the appointment and carefully and clearly explained everything that was going on. He was extremely thorough and made me completely at ease. I felt that I was in good hands throughout the experience. Not only is Dr an excellent ophthalmologist he is also extremely patient focused too.

Dr. Piero has been incredibly kind, patient and attentive throughout my treatment. As a graduate navigating life in a different region alone by myself and then having to go through a complex glaucoma surgery was a bit nerve-wrecking. But the doctor took time to clearly explain the process, including the risks associated with it and what can be done to control some of those risks during the procedure. That really helped put me at ease. What stood out most was his attention to detail. Even just before surgery, he wanted to do a final inspection to ensure that the planned procedure was the best approach and to consider alternatives if needed. That level of care and attentiveness gave me a lot of confidence. A month on, I’m recovering well, and during my every follow-up visit, he patiently answers to all my questions. He is approachable, accessible, and genuinely cares about his patients.
