Phil believes that effective Physiotherapy is not just about reducing pain, but understanding and addressing the underlying cause of the problem. By identifying the source of pain and dysfunction, he helps clients not only become pain free, but also reduce the risk of the issue returning.
Phil specialises in movement analysis and correcting biomechanical inefficiencies that can predispose individuals to injury, recurrent injury, or reduced performance. Through personalised rehabilitation programmes and highly developed hands-on manual therapy skills, he enables people to enjoy life and remain active for longer — from elite athletes to those who simply want to stay fit, active, and able to enjoy time with their families.
Phil graduated from Liverpool University in 2002 with a BSc (Hons) degree and has since completed a wide range of postgraduate training in biomechanics, exercise rehabilitation, injection therapy, and Manual Therapy, achieving a Distinction in his Master’s degree in 2014.
Phil has specialised in Musculoskeletal injuries for over 20 years and has worked at the highest clinical levels within the NHS, as well as in private practice and semi-professional Rugby Union. He currently leads Advanced Practice across Lancashire and South Cumbria and has co-authored published peer-reviewed research within the field.
Throughout his career, Phil has treated a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions affecting people of all ages and activity levels — from elite athletes and competitive sports people to office workers, manual workers, and individuals simply wanting to move more comfortably and stay active in everyday life. His experience includes working with patients recovering from injury, managing long-term pain, improving mobility, and helping people regain confidence in movement so they can continue doing the things that matter most to them.
