Mr Parm Johal is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in knee surgery. He is the clinical lead for soft tissue knee surgery at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust and also practises privately at Spire Thames Valley Hospital and The Chiltern Hospital in Great Missenden.

He qualified from Charing Cross & Westminster Medical School, University of London, in 1994 and completed his orthopaedic training at major centres of excellence in London, including University College Hospital, Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore. He subsequently undertook fellowship training in sports surgery and joint replacement at Sportsmed-SA in Adelaide, Australia, and further dedicated knee surgery fellowships at the Avon Orthopaedic Centre in Bristol and Guy’s Hospital in London. He was also awarded a European Federation of National Associations of Orthopaedics & Traumatology (EFORT) fellowship at the University of Leuven, Belgium.
Mr Johal completed his MD thesis on the kinematics of the knee joint, research that has been widely cited and used in the design of modern knee prostheses. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and has presented at national and international conferences.
