Dr Paula Richardson

Dr Paula Richardson is an experienced dentist who graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa in 1986 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. Following four years in private practice, she moved to London before settling in Somerset in 2000, where she went on to own and run Ilchester Dental Practice for many years, before joining David Neal Dentist, Langport, where she currently practices. 

Throughout her career, Paula has pursued extensive postgraduate education, completing courses and mini-residencies in a wide range of dental disciplines with leading practitioners in the UK and internationally. Her approach centres on comprehensive, preventive dental care, with an emphasis on maintaining oral health and preserving natural teeth for as long as possible.

Paula has a particular interest in early interceptive orthodontic and orthopaedic approaches for children, helping address developing dental and jaw alignment concerns. She also provides smile-enhancement treatments, including professional tooth whitening and veneers, alongside teeth straightening with clear aligners. Paula adopts a preventative approach to dentistry, using patient education and long term oral health planning to help patients maintain their natural teeth. 

Outside dentistry, Paula enjoys walking, golf, glamping and travelling. During an extended career break, she walked the Camino de Santiago and spent three months studying Spanish in Bilbao.
