Dr Nicholas Lai

Dr Nicholas Lai is a well experienced Orthodontist at London City Smiles with over 20 years of experience in dentistry. He completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree at Guy's Hospital in 2000 and worked as a general dentist for three years. He later gained further experience in oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics, restorative dentistry, and paediatric dentistry in various healthcare settings. He was awarded his Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2002.

In 2003, Dr Lai started his three-year Specialist Orthodontic training at the Royal London Hospital, earning his Master of Science degree (MSc) in 2005 and his Membership in Orthodontics (MOrtho) in 2006 from the Royal College of Surgeons of England. 

Dr Lai has worked in various specialist practices, focusing on adult orthodontics and complex cases including orthognathic cases and treating patients with hypodontia. He has expertise in aesthetic brace systems, including: Invisalign, lingual braces and ceramic braces (Clarity). Dr Lai is also an accredited temporary anchorage device (TAD) practitioner, devices used in conjunction with braces to reduce treatment time.
