Mr Muhammad Amjad

Mr. Muhammad Amjad is a highly experienced Consultant Ophthalmologist specialising in retinal and cataract surgery. He currently works at Calderdale Royal Hospital in the UK and performs paediatric retinal surgeries at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London. His expertise spans across both adult and paediatric vitreoretinal surgeries, with a particular focus on complex retinal conditions, including genetic eye diseases and intricate cataract surgeries.

Mr. Amjad’s advanced training includes a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at Leeds Teaching Hospitals and Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, renowned centres for adult vitreoretinal surgery. He also completed a paediatric fellowship at Great Ormond Street Hospital, where he became one of a select few surgeons globally skilled in endoscopic vitreo-retinal surgery. Additionally, he is one of only four specialists in the UK qualified to perform retinal surgeries for neonates and infants with retinopathy of prematurity.

He has authored numerous publications in peer-reviewed international journals and contributed to a book chapter on paediatric retino-vascular diseases.
