I am a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist and have been in clinical practice since 2001. I hold an Advanced Post-Graduate Diploma in Psychotherapy including Psychopathology and have undertaken further training in Neuro-linguistic Psychotherapy, CBT, Acceptance Commitment Therapy and Emotional Freedom Technique. I see clients in my consulting room on Regent Street, London and online for clients worldwide.
I incorporate a range of therapeutic methods and approaches into my Clinical Practice and place a strong emphasis on my continual professional development and to that end undertake further training every year to keep up to date on clinical advances.
However whilst theoretical principles are useful they do not wholeheartedly govern my work. Successful therapy is a unique collaboration between client and therapist. I am supportive, empathic, non-shaming, kindly challenging and optimistic in my work. I have seen hundreds of people achieve deep, powerful changes in their lives over the years.
I always suggest we speak before we first meet so can we outline what you need and how I might help you.

I started seeing Mark in early 2020, at a time when I was struggling with depressive tendencies and substance misuse. He was one of a number of therapists I went for trial sessions with around that time, but I chose to stick with him over the others as I appreciated that he challenged me on some of the things I said, while still building a good rapport. I also liked that he was not wedded to one specific approach to therapy, but rather was willing to adapt his approach to suit the needs of each patient. I saw Mark regularly (albeit remotely during much of the COVID-19 pandemic) for a little over 18 month. In that time, I saw a significant change in my behaviour and my outlook, thanks in no small part to the tools Mark had given me to recognise and disrupt my unhelpful thinking patterns. More than anything, he gave me licence to be kind to myself in a way that I previously would have rejected outright, and which has led to a marked improvement in my quality of life. Mark was certainly the right therapist for me, and, while I recognise that choosing a therapist is intensely personal and that this will not apply to everyone, I would recommend him to others unreservedly and wholeheartedly.

I have seen Mark on two different occasions with a gap of maybe three or four years. Whilst unlocking suppressed thoughts and emotions I hadn’t quite realised, his sessions also equipping me with the tools help myself moving forward.

I cannot compliment the service provided by Mark enough. Mark helped me identify the multiple self inflicted problems causing me stress and anxiety and guided me to change my beliefs around these areas. The result has been that I am now able to put my health and happiness first. I’m aware this is an ongoing process and problems will arise in the future no doubt but I now have the tools to be able to deal with these. Thank you so much for your time and efforts.

As a doctor working for the NHS, Mark worked with me from the outset of the pandemic. His warmth, comfort and support over the past year has been extremely helpful. I've been able to maintain a level of resilience and feel that I have grown and developed as a person. Mark has fantastic insight - and, along with his warmth, he helps facilitate self-reflection in a very pragmatic way. I'm very grateful for all of Mark's input - and I have no hesitation in recommending him very highly. Thanks Mark for making the past year a positive and personal experience.

Mark is attentive, a good listener, and professional. Despite his structured and professional approach, the therapy does feel very personable and my experience has helped me, to a great extent, to establish a process setting me in right direction of recovery. This was a good experience in otherwise troubled times for me. Thanks Mark!

Mark is compassionate, engaging and understanding. Above all else, Mark focusses explicitly on your personal feelings which make YOU feel valued as he works in partnership with YOU to untangle the webs in your mind. Physiological and psychological connections are consistently referenced which helps with the realisation that "this is not all in my head" through shining lights on clear physical responses to trauma that you may not have previously recognised. Mark guides you through recovery, referencing practical theories (and on occasion reasoning as to why he disagrees with practical theories, which is appreciated) to help you understand that you are your own person and that the way you feel is important to you, no matter what others may think or perceived stigmas/stereotypes you think may exist. Thank you Mark for helping me on the road to feeling like me again.

I started seeing Mark after the loss of my young child to cancer. From the outset the nature of his approach was really well tailored to my personality and values, and his thorough and knowledgable explanations meant I really bought into his guidance. Mark’s approach was specific and practical whilst also being ‘big picture’ enough that I feel I have come away with a toolkit to help me navigate my grief on my own in future. Throughout our sessions Mark was warm, kind and empathetic, without being patronising. I would highly recommend Mark to anyone.

I saw Mark for around 5 months I think for PTSD after having been raped 18 months prior. All our work was done via FaceTime. I found that working through the pandemic as a nurse, triggered all kinds of memories and I struggled to be able to sleep, eat, concentrate, or do all kinds of simple everyday tasks. Initially I was worried about speaking about all intimate things, but Mark was very easy to talk to and never judgemental about anything I said. Mark was warm, kind and compassionate, calming and super approachable. He was always empathetic and understanding. Mark encouraged me to push myself, which is something I asked him to do, as I knew that I work better with some pressure applied. I emailed Mark a few times in between therapy to ask questions and he always replied with the answer. Mark was fantastic at explaining PTSD and how it works and also demystifying all the things that were making me feel like I was falling apart. He guided me through some traumatic times and made it a lot easier than I thought it would be. He was also very careful to mirror my language, as there are some things which I struggled to say and hear, but I noticed that he saw that and it helped make things a lot easier, until I was ready to say those words too. I genuinely don’t feel like the same person I was, and things are so much easier again. I can sleep and I can do things which I was avoiding due to the trauma, which makes my whole life easier. I would 100% recommend Mark if you are looking for a therapist.

Mark has been incredibly helpful as a therapist. He has been understanding, kind and "got me" and more importantly to the root of what was distressing me. After sexual, physical and psychological abuse as a child, I have been able to finally address the trauma I experienced and now feel I can live more how I want to. I am no longer the frightened or timid person I had become and therapy has given me the courage to explore new things without the same fears. Thank you!

Mark has a calm and approachable way about him that made me feel at ease. Over time it was like I was visiting a friend. The therapy sessions were thought-provoking, science-backed and gave me the ability and confidence to start questioning my thoughts and behaviours and to gradually amend them to benefit my overall outlook. Mark worked holistically with me and I felt listened to, guided and comfortably led into my new ways and I have left therapy for now knowing I can return if I ever want to or feel the need to and I feel empowered with a new toolkit to face each day and any issues that come my way.
