Professor David Choi is a consultant neurosurgeon based at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery and the Wellington Hospital. He is able to treat a range of problems from simple back and neck pain to complex spine and skull base tumours.
He has expertise in a wide range of areas including (but not limited to) spinal disc surgery, endoscopic surgery, microsurgery, craniocervical junction surgery, sciatica, disco prolapse, cervical radiculopathy, spinal tumours, schwannomas, sarcomas, and brachial plexus injury.
Professor Choi earned a first-class BA in Medical Sciences in 1989 and went on to gain his MBChB from the University of Edinburgh. Following that, he trained in general surgery at Glasgow Royal Infirmary and completed specialised neurosurgery training at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. He then completed a PhD in neurodegeneration for which he received the Hallett Prize medal from the Royal College of Surgeons.
Mr David Choi is active in research and has multiple peer-reviewed papers and book chapters to his credit.
