Mr Sunil Panchani is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with over two decades of experience in the treatment and management of hip and knee issues. He sees private patients at the Ramsay Renacres Hospital and the Wrightington Hospital
Mr Panchani gained his primary medical qualifications from the University of Liverpool in 2004, and followed this with his basic surgical training in Merseyside, as well as his higher surgical training within the Northwest of England. Sunil was also awarded his Masters degree in Orthopaedic Engineering at Cardiff University, during which he acquired knowledge regarding the biomechanics of joint replacements. He gained Fellowship with the Royal College of Surgeons in 2013 and was appointed Consultant in 2017, at the Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Orthopaedic Department. Mr Panchani is also active in the research community, authoring several peer reviewed publications in medical journals, and has also worked as an Investigator on many clinical trials.

Maybe a elastic band for first few day after op to lift leg in and out of the bed but otherwise my experience was fantastic the staff that looked after me were amazing
Mr Pancani is a consummate professional. He explains the issues raised in the reasons the patient is attending in a concise and clear manner and is reassuring about whatever is being/ has been done. Gave me so much confidence in the recovery I could expect after my hip replacements and addressed a potential problem with what turned out to be a tendon associated with my left hip and not anything to do with the hip itself. Brilliant bloke!!
This was my 6th hip operation on left leg over 26 years.This being the first at Wrightington.Everything went extremely well and recovery is now 100% Am very pleased with all aspects of care at Wrightington
Was seen promptly on first visit ,had xray and consultation with Mr penchani ,referred for an MRi scan.Appointment a few weeks later followed by diagnosis, steroid injection shortly after,now almost pain free. Very impressed with my treatment
Mr Panchani carried out a total knee replacement on my right knee 21 months ago which has proved very successful. He did the same procedure on my left knee 5 weeks ago which is healing very well with great promise for the future
Mr Panchani is very professional and easy to talK to. He was able to put me at ease at my first meeting, so much so that I've had three orthopaedic operations, both knee replacements and now left hip replacement.All three operations have been sucessfully carried out by him. Speaking as a patient and also as a retired registered nurse,from my experience he's the best and have no hesitation recommending him to anyone in need of orthopaedic surgery.
Mr Panchani is an amazing surgeon, who has performed both my full hip replacements. He is professional, friendly and puts you at ease. He explains everything in a very plain way that it is easy to understand.
