Mr Thomas was great from the first meeting. Read referral throughly and explained everything. Went through all options and what the next steps would be. He made me feel very at ease and that I was in very good hands. I can’t that him and his team enough.

A no nonsense consultation and a very rapid response to rectify the problem made for a brilliant experience all round. Mr Thomas is a top draw consultant and I will certainly recommend him in the future. I have now made a full recovery and cannot thank you enough for all your help.

Mr Rhys Thomas from the start explained exactly what was going to happen regarding my double Hernia operation, in plain simple language. I was concerned about the mesh side of the operation & sent him an email expressing my concerns & was pleasantly surprised to receive a response that evening regarding the mesh which put my mind at rest The operation went well & he came to see me in the evening. I had cause to go to the hospital the following Saturday as I was a little concerned about the extent of the bruising & some swelling. The hospital changed the dressing & spoke to Mr Thomas who asked them to tell me to come in the following Tuesday. Here again he checked everything, assured me all was ok again in a down to earth manner

When given a choice , many personal reasons can come into play hence I chose Dr Thomas because of his profile on dealing with Hernias from a list of 10 Surgeons and because one of my best friends is Welsh. Dr Thomas met my expectations of being professional knowledgable and a nice calm personality, reassuring and a pleasure to have met to help me with my condition. I thoroughly recommend him as a doctor that does a take a little more time with you, is confident in his knowledge and doesnt make you feel rushed is reassuring when you are nervous of whats to come.

Mr Rhys Thomas was everything you could wish for in a consultant. He explained everything in an accessible and non patronising way that gave me confidence to make an informed decision. He is extremely professional, and his surgery is exceptional, I can’t believe how small my scars are! At every stage Mr Thomas was kind, thoughtful and listened to my views, he is thankfully not in the least ego-centric which has been my previous experience of consultants, and made a refreshing change. I cannot recommend Mr Thomas highly enough.

The overall experience with Mr Thomas was very good especially in the operating theatre, however I was not given any after-care and dietary tips to take home with me after the Op. I had to research the Internet to find out myself.
