I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in June 2022. I met Mr Basu at the Priory I was very nervous and anxious.. Mr Basu explained the procedure showing care and empthay. Mr Basu took the time to answer the mountain of questions and fears and made me feel at ease. There is nothing more Mr Basu could have done to support or reassure me leading up to my operation . HIs reassurance made a stressful time that bit easier for me. My surgery was carried out in December 2022 and I pleased with my results. I can't thank you enough for all you have done for me.. Mr Basu is kind patient caring and a highly skilled surgeon who I would highly recomend.

Mr Basu was great, he explained everything to me really well. During the appointment when he gave me the results of my biopsy he explained the type of cancer I had in a clear way drawing a diagram and explained the treatment I needed so I felt very reassured that even though he had just told me that I had breast cancer I was going to be okay.

Dr Basu was wonderful during my breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. Always clear, always happy to answer my questions. He made me feel extremely comfortable before and after my surgeries. I always felt like I knew what was coming next. He put me at ease. Professional, kind, approachable. I couldnt have asked for more from my consultant.

Mr Basu was extremely thorough in his explanation of my procedure and the options available to me. He also explained the possible complications. His manner was pleasant and reassuring. I’m extremely happy with the result and would recommend him.

Mr Basu has a calm and well articulated approach. He provides the important information and elaborates when prompted, which I see as a considered way not to overwhelm but provide accurate and timely advice. He is very busy and remembers details to the individual case. At times he needs to refer to notes to double check a detail in patient history, and so is careful to be accurate. On occasion it has felt that an emotional response or predetermined reaction is expected. Over time a stronger rapport is developed to better understand each other. I have always felt confident I am getting the highest standard of care, expertise to deal with the presentation of my cancer and attribute my current good health to the significant contribution of Mr Basu as a key member of my health care team.

Can’t compare as luckily I’ve not had an operation other than children naturally. However had been thinking about this for years but dreaded starting the process as I was quite embarrassed. Mr Basu was so professional, calm and had just the right approach. His CV also so impressive I was as reassured as I could have been of being in the most capable hands.

MR Basu supported me throughout my cancer journey. He gave me time to think about decisions and explained everything clearly. His empathy and care with me was excellent and made me feel at ease at all times. He went out of his way to ensure I received the best possible surgery outcomes. A true professional within his field.

I have found Mr Basu wholly professional, truthful, compassionate and competent. I went to Mr Basu at the Priory following a discussion with my daughter who wanted me to have a second opinion. Mr Basu has been so reassuring throughout. I am a 82year old lady and during my initial OPA he explained very clearly my results and what is considered to be the 'Golden Standard' for breast cancer treatment. I needed time with my family to rethink what I needed to do to get best care possible for myself, I had another appointment and within 12 days I had appointments regarding my pre operation preparation, a date and bed. The operation went well and I went home the following day with my instructions and told how to get help at home if I should need it. My post operation follow up care has been the same. I want to express my gratitude to Mr Basu. The whole team have shown me care beyond my expectations and I would recommend Mr Basu and his team to anyone who requires his help.

On a routine mammogram , totally unexpected , a small tumour was found that turn out to be cancer. It was a complete shock and I am not going to lie , I was scared. Dr Basu explained me patiently and in detail the results of the biopsy and my treatment plan , step by step, making sure I understood everything and that I was ok before we moved on . His empathy was noticeable and I knew I could trust him , and that whatever happened next I was in the very best of hands. He and his team were superb at rearranging my surgery after I tested positive for covid . He came to see me before surgery to check I was all right and to explain me again the procedure , and also the day after to explain how the surgery had been. He is a superb doctor and surgeon , he listens and answers all my questions , he is kind and empathetic and makes you feel at ease. The journey is not over but I feel very lucky that he is right beside me.

Mr Basu is a very nice man & fantastic at explaining medical things & I came away after being diagnosed feeling knowledgeable & calm. The only thing I would comment on is that for every patient who comes through the door, that check-up or diagnosis is the most important thing happening in their life at that time. It is inevitable that doctors & medical staff are nonchalant about what is happening, as they come across it several times a day, however, as a patient, sometimes a little more reassurance or explanation about the process would really help to put one’s mind at ease.
