Mr Basu took the time to listen and take a full and through history. He was very knowledgeable and spent time explaining his advice and the reasons behind it. He listened to my concerns and was reassuring.

I have been a patient of Dr Basu since being diagnosed with Breast Cancer a few months ago. Despite the curse of my diagnosis I couldn’t have asked for a better Dr and standard of care. He and his team are super-efficient, have gone out of their way to get fast effective treatment for me and he has super-human levels of patience. During every consultation he has been ever patient, carefully listened to all my questions and concerns then taken the time to explain everything to me and provided constant reassurance. He has been accessible at all times even over weekends and the support has been broad. He looks after you as if you are family and despite having a 90 minute journey to see him at times as we wanted the fastest appointment we couldn’t ask for anything more. Our family see him as an angel not just a doctor for what he has done for us and would recommend him in less than a blink of a eye.

A first-class breast cancer surgeon. Prior to treatment Mr Basu took the time to explain carefully the medical options, their respective benefits and possible side effects. He was caring and approachable and provided excellent patient care. It was easy to communicate with him for advice about a range of issues relating to follow-up symptoms, plans for further treatment and associated appointments. Overall a very experienced and dedicated health-care professional.

Very quickly after being referred by my GP for investigation of a lump in my left breast I saw Mr Basu with the aid of a private medical insurance. After cancer of the left breast was confirmed he quickly arranged for a mastectomy to be followed by a period of Chemotherapy and possibly Radiotherapy which are not covered by my insurers. Seamlesly Mr Basu merged me into the NHS and has kept in regular contact. What amazes me is the timing of his calls and emails which have sometimes been during the weekend or late evening. I could not have wished for better care from him.

Mr Basu was professional and sensitive throughout what was an extremely emotional and difficult time for me and my family. From my first consultation, throughout surgery and follow up appointments I felt like he cared about my treatment and he kept in regular communication which was really important.
