Mr Basu was reassuring, kind and compassionate. He took time to ensure that all my questions, concerns and worries were responded to in a considered, thoughtful and empathetic way. Each and every interaction from initial meeting 23.12.2022 at the QE hospital as NHS patient to a private patient at The Priory, Mr Basu always demonstrated a very calm , kind demeanour, he was someone I could relate to. I felt I could call upon him at any time if I required assistance through this process . His time and consideration truly grounded my anxieties and fears and made the whole episode as manageable and straightforward as it could be.

Mr Basu is without doubt one of the most skilled and knowledgable consultants I have ever met. Not only is his technical ability outstanding but his bedside manner and ability to empathise helped me to get through the most physically and emotionally challenging battle of my life. He is always on hand when any additional concerns have arisen and I would undoubtedly recommend Mr Basu as a consultant to anyone else facing breast cancer.

I initially attended Mr Basu's breast clinic after finding a breast lump. Mr Basu was friendly whilst being very professional, putting me at ease straight away. A scan revealed a ruptured breast implant the lump being stray silicone. I decided to have the implants removed and replaced. By way of a sense check I explored other surgeons but felt Mr Basu to be the best surgeon for me. He was honest about what could be expected and achieved, managed my expectations perfectly and Julia his secretary is very helpful and highly organised, follow up info was sent quickly and was always correct. The day of surgery went well, having had 2 augmentation procedures previously alongside a further breast surgery it can't have been that straight forward. Pain afterwards was manageable, minimal bruising and 4 months on I am delighted with the result - very natural which is what I wanted. I wish I had found Mr Basu years ago when I first started on this journey he far exceeded my expectations. Post operative care was also excellent, I'm a very active person and Mr Basu helped map out which activities I could safely resume when, giving me peace of mind that I wouldn't be doing any damage! I can't recommend Mr Basu highly enough, thanks so much Birmingham Breast Group.

Mr Basu has been incredible looking after me from the beginning of my cancer journey. He visited me everyday over the weekend when I was recovering from surgery. He put my mind at rest and made sure I was well looked after. I’ve never felt more safe and reassured.
