Mr Basu was very clear in his explanation (even using drawings) to help me understand my situation. Very understanding of my concerns and helped to reassure me. Took time to get to know a bit more about me, so I felt more comfortable.

Mr Basu put me at ease instantly. He was the first consultant I met who didn’t overwhelm me with scary information. He has a kind, gentle manner and he is excellent at explaining each stage of the process

After finding a lump in my breast, I had a consultation with Mr Basu at The Priory. Once I had been diagnosed with breast cancer, Mr Basu explained everything that would happen step by step which made me feel less anxious. I was also very happy with the surgery and the aftercare from Mr Basu. I felt that I was in the safest hands throughout. Naren Basu is fantastic consultant and I would highly recommend him.

At my first meeting with Mr Basu, I found his approach to be warm and caring, he spent time explaining my diagnosis, ensuring I understood all the facts he had presented to me. My operation went very smoothly again he was on hand after the op to answer any concerns I may of had.

I arranged to see Mr Basu for a second opinion after originally being seen by the NHS. My experience with him has been excellent from start to finish. I felt comfortable and at ease with every appointment. I was listened too and talked through every step of my treatment and if ever I was unsure there was never a rush. I was given time to go through my options and supported throughout. He carefully reassured me when I was anxious which made the whole process a lot more positive for me. Dr Basu is kind, professional, trusting and full of empathy and I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Mr Basu is an excellent consultant, who made my cancer journey so much more bare able. However difficult the conversation was, he would always answer my questions honestly and was able to deliver information in an appropriate manner and also in a way I/we understood. I felt confident in his recommendations and trusted his plan to be the right one. As proved successfully in my case. I would highly recommend Mr Basu as a consultant to anyone going through a breast cancer diagnosis.

Mr Basu carefully explained the procedure and potential risks. As I had been on an NHS waiting list he also encouraged me to check my status before committing to private care. I did have a reaction to an antibiotic and he was able to speak to me on the phone himself, even though I was already being dealt with by a nurse. The operation eventually required 2 stages and again he reminded me that the second stage could be completed in the NHS. It was a positive experience of private care, and the benefit of having my operation quickly, without feeling that the surgeon was motivated purely by financial rewards.
