Matthew was appointed to Yeovil Hospital Foundation Trust in 2013 as a specilaist in hip and knee surgery with an interest in trauma. He gained an Honours Degree in Physiology from the University of Southampton and then on to complete his medical degree at the University of Aberdeen. Matthew's post graduate surgical training was in the South West Peninsula region where he trained in the internationally renowned Exeter Hip Unit and exeter Knee Reconstruction Unit. Matthew undertook specialist hip and knee fellowship training in Austral;ia for a year working in both Melbourne and Perth where he gainbed experience in all a spects of hip and knee replacement surgery as well as key hole surgery. He undertook further specialist fellowship training in Plymouth where he gained knowldege of computer navigated surgery around the knee.

Matthew's current practice involves both primary and revision hip and knee replacement surgery, keyhole surgery and has a keen interest in trauma. he is part of the complex knee team at Yeovil hospital that undertakes all complex knee cases and revision surgery around the knee.

Matthew submits data from all joint replacements he carries out to the National Joint registry (NJR) and Private Healthcare Information Network (PHIN).

Matthew has a very patient centred philosophy to his care and strives to deliver a personal individualized approach to all aspects of patient care.
