Mr Khalid Baloch

Mr Khalid Baloch is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with extensive expertise in managing knee disorders. He qualified from Manchester University in 1986 and initially trained in Manchester before completing his specialist and subspecialist training in Birmingham. In 2001, he was appointed as a Trauma and Orthopaedic Consultant at University Hospital Birmingham and the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital.

With a primary interest in knee joint disorders, Mr Baloch performs a range of procedures including arthroscopic surgery, meniscal surgery, articular cartilage repair, and anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction. He also carries out complex multiligamentous knee surgeries and regularly performs knee replacement surgeries, including total, partial, and revision procedures. In addition, he is one of the trauma surgeons with a specialist focus on lower limb injuries, particularly around the knee.

Mr Baloch is deeply committed to education and training. He serves as a Clinical Tutor at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital and is the Director of the Birmingham Orthopaedic Training Programme, where he oversees the teaching and training of over 40 orthopaedic trainees across the West Midlands. He also sits on various training committees in the region.

His consultations cover treatments such as ACL reconstruction, ganglion cyst management, knee arthroscopy (keyhole surgery), knee cartilage repair, knee replacement surgery, and sports injury management.
