In a word Johnny is ‘brilliant’. I have been seeing Johnny for the last six months and I feel like a different person. After a long initial discussion, Johnny was confident in his diagnosis of me and set about treatment. Almost instantly, I felt different. I had far more energy, far less anxiety and, according to my husband, my voice lifted. Over the next few months, these changes continued. I now feel far more at ease, far more relaxed and far happier. Johnny is incredible, and has helped me so much in the 4 months that I’ve been coming to see him. I went to see Johnny for help with fertility issues as we had been trying to have a baby for 18 months with no luck and also had just had a failed IVF cycle. I had tried acupuncture before, but the traditional Chinese medicine style, and liked it but was recommended Johnny by a friend and liked the sound of Five Elements – it made sense that everything in my body needed to be working to its best to be able to get pregnant. I went to Johnny at a really hard time and at the first session I was in a state of panic and desperation that it would never happen, however I left the clinic feeling completely different and so much more settled and as if a weight had been lifted. I have been seeing Johnny for 4 months now and it is amazing, I have become some much calmer and more relaxed about the whole IVF process and have become less anxious and panicked about becoming pregnant. We also got pregnant, but unfortunately miscarried, but this was such a massive step for me as that had never happened before, and I know for sure that this is down to Johnny and the acupuncture. I completely trust him and feel so much better as soon as I walk in the door of the clinic.

I'd been thinking about having acupuncture for a number of years and there was something that appealed to me after I heard Gerard's pod cast about the 5 element method, but I wasn't quite sure exactly what that was. Johnny got back to me really quickly after my enquiry and he said the best thing would be to have a quick phone call. Johnny was absolutely right about this- the way he explained how he works really crystallised for me why I wanted to do this and he helped me to feel at ease before my first session and not feel like I was walking into something completely unknown. On the first session I knew pretty much straight away that we'd build a great working alliance. This is because Johnny is warm, empathic and genuine as well as being professional and boundaried. These qualities are significant to me, as for someone from my background with the life experiences I've had, it's fundamental that I feel safe enough in a space that I might feel vulnerable in. I decided that I wanted to just experience the process, and not know in detail exactly what Johnny was working on and why. We discussed this in the first session which seemed to very much fit with Johnny's way of working as he says otherwise it can get a bit 'horoscopy'!! I really love the way Johnny works and adapts to my current needs and staggers the sessions to allow time for processing.
