Mr John Mitchell

Mr John Mitchell is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of hip and knee conditions. He is based at The Duchy Hospital in Harrogate and also works with Harrogate Harlow Private Healthcare. He has over 22 years of consultant practice experience and has performed over six thousand hip and knee replacements. John offers a rounded and compassionate surgical care centred around the patient.

He provides a comprehensive service for patients with degenerative joint disease and other orthopaedic conditions, offering both non-surgical and surgical treatments. His clinical practice includes hip and knee replacement surgery, high-performance hip arthroplasty for younger adults, ceramic-on-ceramic hips, and hip resurfacing. He also treats hip and groin pain, hip arthritis, hip bursitis, and offers hip injections.

For knee conditions, Mr Mitchell provides knee replacement surgery, conformis knee replacement, cartilage surgery keyhole knee arthroscopy, and treatment for knee arthritis, bursitis, meniscal tears, and general knee pain. Mr Mitchell graduated from Bristol University in 1991 and completed surgical training in Manchester, a research fellowship in Plymouth, and higher orthopaedic training in Yorkshire. He has been a Consultant at Harrogate District Hospital since 2003 in Trauma and Orthopaedics.

He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and a member of the British Orthopaedic Association, the British Hip Society, and the British Medical Association.
