About Mr Helmut Zahn
Mr. Helmut Zahn is a highly experienced Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in hip and knee surgery, with over three decades of clinical practice in the UK. He obtained his State Exam in Medicine from Ruprecht Karl Universität Heidelberg in 1987, followed by a Doctorate in Medicine in 1988. After relocating to England in 1989, he trained at several leading institutions, including King’s College Hospital, Guy’s and St Thomas’, and The Royal Brompton Hospital in London. Mr. Zahn achieved his FRCS (Tr & Orth) in Glasgow.
A Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and Member of the British Hip Society, Mr. Zahn has been a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust since 1999. His clinical expertise includes hip and knee replacements, revision surgery, arthroscopy, ACL and meniscal repairs, and the management of complex hip disorders.
In addition to his surgical work, he has held leadership roles such as Clinical Director, Infection Control Lead, and Trust Lead for Hip and Knee Surgery, and currently serves as Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee for the OneHealthcare Group. He practices at The Chaucer Hospital and One Ashford Hospital.
