About Mr Hari Prem
Mr Hari Prem completed his specialist training in orthopaedic surgery at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals in London, followed by an Arthroscopy Fellowship in Australia, and an Ankle Replacement Fellowship and a Paediatric Orthopaedic Fellowship at Manchester. He currently works as an esteemed Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital and the Birmingham Children's Hospital.
Mr Prem deals with all aspects of foot and ankle surgery and limb reconstruction in all age groups - from newborns to the elderly. He also has a specialist interest in sports injuries and he is currently studying the role of shockwave therapy for painful tendons and fascia. He has completed successful work on a new condition called Osteochondrosis, in adolescent footballers. He has furthermore studied rare conditions like spring ligament ruptures and peroneal spastic flatfeet.
Mr Prem is also heavily involved in research, having published papers on the long-term results of ankle replacements, ultrasound study of tendon healing and clubfoot surgery, and presented them at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and at other international and national meetings. He is also involved in teaching and regularly lectures and trains senior surgical trainees, physiotherapists and medical students.

Dr Prem has been very helpful on each time I have seen him. He has been keen to get to the bottom of my symptoms and was very thorough in terms of his investigations. Mr Prem always took the time to explain things clearly and in detail. Mr Prem was very friendly, which made me comfortable in being able to ask questions about the outcome of my investigations.
Mr Prem explained everything clearly and I was able to ask questions regarding my follow up care. Mr Prem also allowed me to go back to see him later to view my x rays and show me what has taken place during my operation. Everyone else was also so polite, friendly and helpful
I saw Hari for a toe issue. He recommended an MRI. He was very Informative and knowledgeable throughout the entire consultations.
Prem is a lovely man listens to your worries explains things in detail nothings to much i had complex surgery to my foot and the experience from beginning to end has been fantastic i cant recommend mr prem enough im so pleased Thank you!!
