Dr Mohammed Atcha

Dr Mohammed Atcha is an experienced General Practitioner with almost two decades of medical experience and a particular interest in preventative healthcare, cardiometabolic health, lifestyle medicine and healthy ageing. He graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2007 and has been practising as a GP since 2012.

Prior to becoming a GP, Dr Atcha trained and worked across a broad range of medical and surgical specialties. This experience provided him with a unique perspective on the patient journey and the long-term impact of chronic disease. Over time, he came to appreciate that some of the greatest opportunities to improve health do not lie in treating established disease, but in identifying risk factors early and helping patients prevent illness before it develops.

His clinical practice focuses on helping patients understand their individual health risks, optimise their long-term health and make informed decisions about prevention and treatment. He combines traditional medical assessment with detailed health screening, cardiovascular and metabolic risk evaluation, lifestyle medicine principles and personalised health planning.

Dr Atcha's interest in prevention and health optimisation stems from an early fascination with human physiology. Before qualifying in medicine, he completed a BSc (Hons) in Physiology and continues to draw upon this foundation when helping patients understand the factors that influence long-term health, cardiovascular risk and healthy ageing.

He believes healthcare should be collaborative, with patients fully understanding their health and feeling empowered to take control of it. He is known for his approachable manner, clear communication and commitment to delivering personalised care tailored to each individual's goals and circumstances.

Alongside his clinical work, Dr Atcha has an ongoing interest in medical education and quality improvement. His professional qualifications include MB ChB, BSc (Hons) Physiology, MRCGP, DRCOG, FHEA and a Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Education.

His aim is simple: to help patients remain healthier for longer through prevention, early intervention, appropriate treatment and evidence-based medical care.
