Mr Mohamed Shahin

Mr Mohamed Shahin is a Consultant Ophthalmologist with an international background in eye care, specialising in cataract surgery and Medical Retina. Driven by a longstanding interest in ophthalmology, he moved to Spain at the age of 17 to pursue his medical education, graduating in Medicine from the Universidad de Santiago de Compostela in 1998. He subsequently completed advanced ophthalmic training in Barcelona, including a Master’s degree at the Barraquer Ophthalmology Centre, one of Europe’s established institutions for ophthalmic education and clinical care. He also holds the Spanish Certificate of Ophthalmology Speciality and is a Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology, reflecting specialist training and assessment against European ophthalmic standards.

Mr Shahin has more than five years of experience as a consultant with a major independent provider of eye surgery and has performed thousands of ophthalmic procedures. His clinical practice focuses particularly on cataract surgery, where he manages patients throughout assessment, treatment and postoperative care, while also drawing on his expertise in Medical Retina to assess and manage retinal conditions.

Alongside his clinical work, Mr Shahin has held a clinical leadership role, contributing to the delivery and organisation of ophthalmic services. His combination of international training, extensive surgical experience and dual expertise in Cataract and Medical Retina supports a comprehensive approach to the diagnosis and treatment of a range of eye conditions.
