Within her training, Miss Hignett was successful in becoming a National Training Interface Group (TIG) Oncoplastic Breast Fellow. This involved focussed and dedicated training, with both breast and plastics colleagues, in West Yorkshire, performing both Cosmetic and Oncoplastic Breast Techniques.
During this time, Miss Hignett also spent time training in Brussels with Professor Hamdi (Plastics Consultant) and attended meetings in both Brussels and Paris. Following this Miss Hignett became a Trainee Representative for the Oncoplastic TIG Group advising on the continued evolving structure of the program and the interview process. In view of this, Miss Hignett has a dynamic interest in promoting and supporting the National TIG Oncoplastic Breast Fellowships in the selection and training of surgeons to perform Oncoplastic Procedures as listed above.

Miss Hignett is a very approachable and friendly lady. I felt completely at ease in her company. She is so knowledgeable in her field and left feeling a lot more confident, thanks to her understanding and care. She explained everything in layman's terms and helped me understand what my options would be going forward, offering various different surgeries, along with their own pro's and con's etc and giving me lots of information to digest and help me make the right decision for me. I would not hesitate to recommend Miss Hignett
