I am a pain consultant at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospital (GSTT). My journey began in China, where I attended medical school before relocating to the UK in 1997 to pursue a PhD in neuroscience at University College London (UCL). After completing my PhD, I advanced my medical experience by obtaining the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in anaesthetics and pain medicine in early 2018. Since then, I have been serving as a full-time pain consultant. Additionally, I am available to perform extra anaesthetic lists at GSTT.
I am specialised in chronic pain conditions, particularly chronic widespread pain and
fibromyalgia. I adopt a multidisciplinary approach, working closely with clinical psychologists and physiotherapists. I have research interests in understanding the mechanisms of fibromyalgia. I offer intravenous lidocaine infusion, an alternative therapy for refractory neuropathic pain. I have several years of experience in the diagnosis and treatment of visceral pain and chronic post-surgical pain.
