About Mr Mike Adams
Mr Mike Adams is a Consultant Ophthalmologist seeing private patients at The Chiltern Hospital in Manchester and The Shelburne Hospital in High Wycombe. He has special interests in the management of external, corneal and conjunctival eye diseases and cataracts.
He completed his medical degree at the University of Cambridge in 2002, followed by his clinical training at Addenbrooke's Hospital. After qualifying, he began his specialist training at Kent County Ophthalmic Hospital, one of the oldest eye hospitals in the UK, as well as St Thomas', Queen Victoria, Oxford Eye Hospitals and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. Mr Adams later completed an honorary fellowship in corneal and external eye diseases at Moorfield's Eye Hospital and received his Fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in 2014. In 2016, he was appointed as a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust where he currently leads the corneal and cataract services.
In his current clinical practice, Mr Adams sees patients with a broad range of eye conditions including: myopia and hyperopia, presbyopia, astigmatism, eyelid cyst, keratoconus and cataracts. He has expertise in the treatment and management of these conditions, including: corneal transplant, refractive lens replacement surgery and eyelid cyst removal.

During my visit to the original optical clinic, I did not receive explanations about the outcomes or potential risks, which has left me feeling uncertain. As I mentioned, I have PTSD, and the experience of leaving the clinic with significant visual impairment set back my progress and almost caused me to lose hope that this issue could be resolved. Your calm, professional, and compassionate approach has given me renewed hope, for which I am profoundly grateful. I wish I had known about your services earlier, as I would have chosen you for the surgery from the outset. I cannot recommend you highly enough and am so grateful for the support you have provided.
