Dr Marta Hovan is a Consultant Ophthalmologist who provides expert diagnostic and therapeutic care for a wide range of eye conditions. Serving as a Consultant Glaucoma Lead, she specialises in evaluating complex ocular health issues, delivering personalised treatment pathways designed to safeguard vision and enhance patient well-being. Dr Hovan is dedicated to delivering reassuring, patient-focused care that addresses both acute and chronic ophthalmic disorders.

Her main area of clinical focus is the management and surgical treatment of glaucoma. Dr Hovan offers comprehensive care for patients with elevated intraocular pressure, utilising medical therapy, YAG laser procedures, and advanced surgical interventions such as filtering surgery and trabeculectomy. Her broad clinical expertise also includes medical retina care, particularly the management of wet age-related macular degeneration using intravitreal therapy, as well as cataract care, uveitis management, and routine ocular health assessments.

Dr Hovan holds a medical degree (MD) and completed specialist postgraduate training in Ophthalmology. Committed to maintaining the highest standard of care, she regularly participates in continuing medical education and has been honoured with the International Ophthalmologist Education Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
