Dr. Marilena Nicou

Dr Marilena Nicou is a General Practitioner and accredited British Menopause Society (BMS) Specialist with extensive experience in women’s health. She graduated from Imperial College London in 2011 with an MBBS and an intercalated BSc in Reproductive Medicine, before completing further specialist training in primary care.

Alongside her GP work, Dr Nicou holds the Diploma of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (DFSRH) and provides a comprehensive contraceptive service, including intrauterine coil fitting. This breadth of training allows her to deliver evidence-based, holistic care tailored to women at different stages of life.

Her clinical interests lie in the close relationship between hormones and mental health. She has particular expertise in supporting women who are sensitive to hormonal changes, whether related to menstruation, the perimenopause, or the menopause. Recognising that these issues are often under-recognised or misunderstood, Dr Nicou is passionate about improving access to accurate advice, early diagnosis, and effective treatment.

With a focus on personalised medicine, she works with her patients to create individualised management plans that reflect their unique needs and concerns. Her goal is to empower women to achieve long-term health and well-being, free from stigma and with confidence in their care.
