Mr Louis Wicking

Mr Louis Wicking is a Senior Physiotherapist at Benenden Hospital. He has expertise in a range of areas, including postoperative rehabilitation, lower back pain, chronic pain, sports rehabilitations, plantar heel pain and knee pain.

Mr Wicking is a sports enthusiast, and completed his Bachelor's degree in Sports Coaching at the University of Lancashire. His interest in physiotherapy began when he sustained an injury playing football, and had help from a physiotherapist to recover and return to the field. In 2020 he graduated with a Master's degree in physiotherapy from the University of Brighton.

He completed his junior rotations at the local NHS Trust (Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells), gaining experience in many different disciplines including trauma and orthopaedics, general medical, cardiorespiratory, musculoskeletal outpatients and neurology (stroke at Maidstone). This was an invaluable opportunity to gain a broad range of clinical skills and knowledge.

Mr Wicking prioritises evidence-based assessments and treatments, and he provides a variety of treatments in his practice. His expertise include exercise rehabilitation, diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries, rehabilitation strategies for sports injuries, education and management advice for chronic pain, and Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT). He tailors his treatment approach to each individual, and he firmly believes that clear communication with patients promotes successful outcomes.
