Dr. Laura Hunter-Shaw

Dr. Laura Hunter-Shaw is a General Dentist who earned her Bachelor's degree in Dentistry in 2019 at Sheffield University, and is now based in Grantham, Lincolnshire.

Laura grew up on a farm, but swapped tractors for teeth after a cycling accident in which she broke her front tooth. It made her realise the importance of having a pain free, beautiful smile for both your mental and physical health - something she strives to achieve for all of her patients.

Laura enjoys carrying out a full range of dental treatments for patients, but her passion is treating anxious and dental phobic patients. She knows that for many, visiting the dentist is a daunting experience but as a young and enthusiastic professional, she is committed to changing people's perceptions of ‘The Dentist'.

Laura prides herself in her relaxed and down to earth nature which allows her to build rapport quickly and establish a positive atmosphere within the surgery. She particularly enjoy taking the time to get to know her patients and taking the fear out of dentistry, to make patients feel at ease during appointments to be able to carry out treatment in a relaxed environment.

Laura is qualified in Inhalation and Intravenous Sedation for both adults and children, and uses this to help anxious patients cope with dental treatment. She aims to create lasting relationships, built on trust and honesty, to help patients achieve their dental goals and so that hopefully one day they can have the confidence to visit the dentist worry free!
