Dr. Katie Cathrow

Dr Katie Cathrow is the Medical Director and CEO of YourGP, bringing a wealth of multidisciplinary expertise to her patients. Her journey in healthcare began with a degree in Psychology before she transitioned to medicine, graduating in 2004. After several years working in hospital-based roles, she moved into community medicine to complete her General Practice training. 

As a Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners, Dr Cathrow is recognised for her high standards of clinical excellence and leadership. She holds a particular sub-specialty interest in dermatology, supported by an postgraduate diploma and a professional registration with the JCCP for aesthetic treatments. She has also completed specialist training in sexual and reproductive healthcare through the family planning services in the Scottish Borders and Sandyford Clinic, earning her Diploma of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare. She is experienced in contraceptive counselling and provides fitting and removal of contraceptive coils and implants as part of her comprehensive women's health services.

Beyond her clinical duties, she is a committed educator and professional leader in the Scottish medical community. As an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Edinburgh Medical School, she teaches final-year medical students, while her role as Education Lead for the South East Scotland RCGP Faculty Board reflects her commitment to advancing medical education and supporting the development of future General Practitioners. Dr Cathrow integrates a holistic philosophy into her care, frequently utilising her formal training in medical acupuncture to support patient wellbeing.
