Mr John Adam

Mr. John Adam is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon based in Yorkshire, specialising in shoulder and elbow surgery. He commenced his consultant role in August 2022 following completion of a dedicated Shoulder and Elbow Fellowship at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.

He obtained his MBBS from Imperial College London in 2010, having previously completed a BSc in Surgery and Anaesthesia with First Class Honours in 2007. Mr. Adam undertook his Junior Doctor training in Manchester, followed by Higher Surgical Trauma and Orthopaedics training in the North West Rotation, during which he earned multiple qualifications including Member of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS), Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery (FRCS Tr & Orth), and the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery.

Mr. Adam holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education from Edge Hill University, awarded with distinction, and actively participates in teaching junior doctors and medical students. His research experience includes multiple presentations and publications in national and international peer-reviewed journals, covering topics such as shoulder trauma, shoulder arthritis, shoulder instability, and rotator cuff tears.

His clinical interests encompass shoulder arthroscopy and sports surgery, arthroscopic instability surgery of the shoulder, arthroscopic rotator cuff surgery, shoulder impingement, frozen shoulder, shoulder and elbow arthritis, shoulder replacement surgery, AC joint injuries, biceps tendon surgery, tendon injuries and tendinopathies around the shoulder and elbow, shoulder and elbow fracture fixation, and cubital tunnel surgery.
