Mrs. Jo Gamble's journey into the world of holistic health and wellness began with her career as a behavioural therapist, specialising in children with autism and complex learning and behavioural difficulties. However, her life took a drastic turn when her daughter was diagnosed with multiple autoimmune diseases at just 19 months old, leading to a challenging four-year chemotherapy regime to suppress her immune system.
Faced with the overwhelming task of managing her daughter's health, Jo recognised the importance of food as medicine but struggled to find comprehensive guidance. Determined to regain control and support her daughter's recovery, she delved into nutritional therapy with The College of Naturopathic Medicine. Driven by a desire to understand the root causes of illness, she pursued functional medicine training, becoming the first functional medicinal practitioner in the UK from the Institute for Functional Medicine in 2013.
Jo decided to specialise further in integrative cancer care, completing her Fellowship in Integrative Cancer to better understand and address the rising rates of cancer. With a deep understanding of holistic health principles, she is committed to unravelling the underlying reasons behind disease and working towards rebalancing and rebuilding the body's systems for improved quality of life and wellness.
In her role as a functional medicine practitioner, Jo's days are diverse and dynamic, fuelled by her passion for making a difference in people's lives. Beyond her clinical practice, she shares her expertise through lecturing at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels internationally, inspiring others with her scientific knowledge and years of clinical experience. Jo's dedication to health and wellbeing is evident in her commitment to supporting clients across the UK and beyond, as well as mentoring future practitioners in the field of holistic medicine.
