Mr Javier Bardavio is a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Optegra Eye Hospital Hampshire. He has special interests all aspects of cataract surgery, with particular interest in phacorefractive surgery and glaucoma.
Mr Bardavio qualified in medicine at the University of Barcelona, Spain in 1992. After qualifying, he moved to the UK and completed seven years of specialist training in Ophthalmology and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, in 1998. Awarded with a Certificate of Specialist Training in Ophthalmology by the Spanish Ministry of Education in 1999, started work as a consultant with special interest in glaucoma for 16 years then after. He was tutor of trainees for 10 years, director of the service for 11 years and clinical director of ophthalmology services at the Tarragona Trust Hospitals (ICS Camp Tarragona and Tortosa)
He also completed a Master's degree in Clinical Sciences Research at the University of Barcelona in 2009, a Master's degree in Healthcare Management at the International University of Catalonia in 2012.
