About Dr. Jasroop Chana
Dr Jasroop Chana is a Consultant Rheumatologist and General Physician with extensive experience in managing a wide range of Rheumatological conditions. She trained at University of Southampton Medical School before completing her postgraduate and specialist training across the Wessex and Oxford regions. She entered specialist Rheumatology training within the Oxford Deanery in 2008 and was awarded her Certificate of Completion of Training in 2015, with dual accreditation in Rheumatology and General Internal Medicine.
Dr Chana has been a Consultant at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust since 2015, where she runs clinics at Stoke Mandeville Hospital and Amersham Hospital. Her clinical work covers all aspects of Rheumatology, and she regularly performs joint and soft tissue injections. She also plays a key role as Clinical Lead and contributes to service development. She has a particular interest in musculoskeletal ultrasound and holds Level 1 accreditation from EULAR and Early Inflammatory Arthritis. Alongside her clinical work, she has published in peer-reviewed journals and remains fully engaged with ongoing professional appraisal and development.
Dr Chana is also actively involved in Medical Education. She serves as co-Head of School of Medicine in Thames Valley and supervises Internal Medicine Training residents. Her teaching extends to medical students from University of Oxford and University of Buckingham Medical School, as well as Allied Health Professionals. She is also an active MRCP PACES examiner for the Royal College of Physicians.
In addition to her NHS role, she offers private consultations at The Chiltern Hospital, providing accessible specialist care to patients across Buckinghamshire. She also reports DXA scans as part of bone health assessments for The Chiltern Hospital and Clementine Churchill Hospital.

Dr Chana was professional and clear in her diagnosis and really helped me to understand my situation
our first appointment chosen because my husbands PMR seemed to be not improving Dr chana has excellent interpersonal skills so very easy to communicate our concerns she asked pertinent questions had a good knowledge of my husbands previous medical history so homework was done. One of the first consultants we have had experience of who after asking the right questions then actually performed a thorough physical examination of not only the Rheumatica but also checked heart and lungs it was very reassuring . then talked us through steroid reduction as her conclusions threw a curved ball in terms of the possibility of a neurological issue or possibly a steroid issue . she then sent this to us the following evening (a Sunday) which gave an excellent summary of my husbands appointment and recommendations for our GP to initiate a neurological referral, various bloods and a follow up appointment in 3 months or earlier if my husbands condition deteriorated including other tests such as DEXA or adrenal test In all extremely impressive we have since recommended her to a friend with RA
