About Dr James Hamilton
James is a consultant in musculoskeletal (MSK) radiology, working within the York and Scarborough teaching hospitals. He graduated from Hull York Medical School in 2014 and later completed his Diploma in Sports and Exercise Medicine at the University of South Wales. In addition to his MSK Radiology work, James serves as a visiting lecturer in Radiology for the MSc in Sports and Exercise Medicine at the University of Leeds and as the Senior Clinical Lecturer and Radiology Lead at Hull York Medical School.
James has a unique background, having previously worked in professional football as a club doctor for both Gateshead and Harrogate, as well as with the Professional Squash Association. It is rare to find a radiologist with clinical experience in sport, and this combination of MSK Radiology and sports medicine provides a high level of expertise at Yorkshire Sports Medicine.
