Dr Ishtar Mahdi

I was sent to Dr Mahdi by my consultant to try and avoid an operation for TMD . I was in considerable pain and had trouble opening my mouth . It was also starting to affect my ear. This was my 3 month checkup after having been fitted with the night time mandibulaire advancement device. The results have been stellar. Dr Mahdi as ever was superbly professional throughout explaining everything as she went. I now have no pain, no ear problem and the clenching during the day is much reduced . I expect to see further improvement after 6 months.

I recently had composite bonding done at my local dentist with Dr Ishtar Mahdi, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. She clearly explained what the treatment would involve, including the process of shaping and bonding the composite material to enhance my teeth, as well as setting realistic expectations about the possible outcomes. I first visited Dr. Ishtar because I was experiencing loud clicking sounds in my jaw 2-3 times whenever I opened my mouth, and it was clearly getting worse. What set this practice apart was that it wasn't just a simple jaw consultation; Dr. Ishtar also considered my sleep and stress levels. I originally came in to see Dr Ishtar about my TMJ pain, she was able to help me in a really holistic manner, taking into account additional dental work and wider health concerns. We came up with a treatment plan involving a simple mouthguard device that was very non-invasive and easy to use. This work has helped my jaw pain a great deal, and has exceeded my expectations in terms of pain relief and mobility in my jaw. I am very happy we have been able to do this without utilising botox or other invasive work. Overall her practice is very calm and she is very knowledgeable, providing me with a wealth of information I have been able to take to other healthcare providers. Her practice is also accommodating for those who are neurodiverse. I was also able to come in to the practice and see a different dentist very easily and quickly for some follow up care after an extraction, the staff were very kind and helpful.
