Dr. Hymavathi Rachabattula

Hymavathi Rachabattula is a highly experienced Consultant in Diabetes, Endocrinology, and General Medicine, with over 20 years of NHS practice. She is currently based at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, primarily working at the King’s Bromley sites, and also sees private patients at Chelsfield Park Hospital Orpington.

Following her Foundation and Core Medical Training, Dr Rachabattula completed her higher specialist training (CCT) within the London Deanery, rotating through several leading hospitals. She completed her specialist training at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, where she developed extensive expertise in endocrinology, diabetes, and general medicine.

Appointed as a Consultant in 2017, she plays a key role within her department and holds significant leadership positions, including Lead for Clinical Governance in Diabetes and Endocrinology and Lead for Patient Outcomes within the General Medicine Care Group. In these roles, she has been instrumental in enhancing clinical governance frameworks, improving patient safety, and driving service development through multidisciplinary care pathways.

Dr Rachabattula is actively involved in research and academia, with multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at national and international conferences. She is also a committed educator, serving as an Educational Supervisor for trainee doctors within the NHS, supporting the development of future clinicians.

Her clinical practice focuses on delivering evidence-based, patient-centred care, with a strong emphasis on improving long-term outcomes for individuals with diabetes, endocrine disorders, and complex general medical conditions.
