Ms Helen Cottingham

Helen is one of the Senior Physiotherapists at the clinic, having graduated from the University of Birmingham with a BSc Hons degree in Physiotherapy. Since gaining chartered status, Helen has gone on to complete a wide array of postgraduate degrees in areas such as exercise prescription, management of lower back pain, joint mobilisation and manipulation, lower limb biomechanics, gait analysis, and complex shoulder presentations.

With extensive orthopaedic experience, Helen has worked with trauma and post-surgery patients. She also has a particular interest in assessing complex spinal conditions, offering comprehensive assessments, treatment, and self-management programmes. In her treatment approach, Helen integrates pilates and yoga exercises, tailoring them to suit the patient's specific needs. She has been a qualified Pilates instructor since 2004 and a therapeutic yoga instructor since 2019.

Recently, Helen completed a diploma in musculoskeletal medicine in primary care and a diploma in injection therapy. She also spends part of her week in the NHS, working in an advanced capacity alongside GPs and other allied health professionals. In this role, she facilitates investigations and onward referrals, further enhancing her diverse expertise.
