Dr. Harriet Garrod

Dr Harriet Garrod is an experienced Counselling Psychologist with a career spanning clinical psychology services, forensic mental health, occupational wellbeing and medico-legal assessment. She specialises in supporting adults experiencing complex psychological difficulties, including trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), addiction, anxiety, depression and work-related stress.

Her professional experience includes work within NHS and private healthcare, secure psychiatric services, community settings and the criminal justice system. She has also worked with the Ministry of Justice, Parole Boards, police and military personnel, bringing a broad understanding of the psychological challenges faced by individuals in complex personal, professional and legal circumstances.

Alongside clinical practice, Dr Garrod has contributed to postgraduate education, including teaching on the Master’s programme in Forensic Psychology at Buckinghamshire New University and previously lecturing on the Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy at Birkbeck, University of London. Her professional work also includes media contributions, clinical supervision and expert witness assessments supporting legal proceedings.
